A work lanyard (lanyard system) based on a friction hitch for work positioning that offers a range of solutions for movement and change of position. This CE-certified fall protection system has a diameter of 11.8 mm and can be chosen in seven different lengths.

A further use is as an anchor device for rescue of up to two people.

The custom-made rope and friction-hitch cord have been adapted to interact perfectly for exceptional reliability, performance and durability; especially when combined with DMM equipment.

Nomad has the same two diameter options, contrasting colours and lengths as the Nomad+, but without the Director Yoke connection and the Fidus 6.5 mm eye with sleeve.

All parts are replaceable for longer service life.

Features:

• Bright colour with friction cords and colour-coded hardware for easy identification in complex environments; increasing safety by helping to avoid confusion with the main line or a second work lanyard.
• A range of lengths of work lanyard (3m, 4m, 5m, 7m, 10m, 15m and 20m) to suit the working environment and your climbing style.
• Lower diameter of 11.8 mm for weight saving and use in warm and dry environments.
• Market-proven 24-strand double-braid polyester rope with a nylon core. Easy to grip and good abrasion resistance.
• Fidus friction cords have a polyester core and sheath, providing exceptional and consistent performance over a longer service life, even in tough high-UV environments.
• The friction cord has been designed to interact smoothly, consistently and reliably across a wide range of conditions.
• DMM TAP 2 to quickly move the friction hitch and minimal "sit-back". Three holes allow further configurations in complex work positioning.
• Combined with the DMM Ultra O for correct compatibility between pulley, friction hitch and connection to the harness.
• Director Yoke is also available separately to upgrade the Nomad system.
• The 6.5 mm Fidus eye is available separately to upgrade the Nomad system.
• Short and strong stitch patterns in sewn eyes.

Certifications and Applications

All Nomad systems are certified to EN358:2018, EN795B:2012. Not to be used for fall arrest.

All Nomad systems are certified as an anchor device for two-person rescue loads (PD CEN/TS 16415:2013).

Certified in a wide range of configurations:

• Doubled, with two attachment points on the harness – Side D to Side D (excluding suspension)/Front D to Front D (including suspension).
• Doubled, with one attachment point on the harness (e.g. bridge/ventral attachment point) and the connector on the termination side attached to the TAP 2.
• Restraint when connected to an attachment point/attachment points on a harness/belt approved for restraint.
• Single, using a friction hitch with sleeve. Significantly increases the working length and reduces tangling near the harness.
• Attach additional fall protection systems for more work positioning options using additional holes in the TAP 2.
• Two doubled configurations with a single work lanyard for two connection points to the structure.
• End-to-end connection of work lanyard at full length.
• Rescue, with the work lanyard as an anchor device.

Certified with three friction hitches (Distel 5+1, Schwabisch 5+1, VT 5+2) tied with the same length Fidus 8.5 mm eye-to-eye.
