Tool lanyards & chainsaw strops for arborists
A good tool lanyard (or chainsaw strop) makes the job in the tree safer and smoother.
You reduce the risk of dropped tools and unnecessary jolts on your harness, and save time when moving between positions.
Here you'll find selected lanyards for chainsaws, hand saws and other tools – from compact mini strops to robust bungee solutions.
Choose the right lanyard for the way you work
-
Bungee / elastic: follows your movements and keeps the strop short when the tool isn't in use.
-
Anti-shock: helps absorb jolts and loading during fast movements.
-
Hi-vis: extra visibility in the canopy and on the ground.
-
Lanyard managers: for tidiness and less tangling as you climb and position yourself.
Tips before you buy
Think through length, width and attachment points based on how heavy the tool is and how you work:
a lighter mini lanyard is perfect for a hand saw and smaller tools, while a heavier-duty chainsaw strop is often the right choice for a chainsaw.

What is a lanyard?
A lanyard is a short line or strop that tethers something so it can't be dropped –
in our case, your tools when working at height. The term is used broadly: for neck lanyards, for
work positioning lanyards and for tool strops. On this page you'll find lanyards for tools –
chainsaw strops that attach between your harness and your chainsaw or hand saw and catch the tool if you lose your grip.
Looking instead for a work positioning lanyard – the line you work off when you're up in the tree –
you'll find them among our textile lanyards for work positioning.
