The Petzl CHICANE allows the use of ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS on a single rope, providing additional braking power during descent. Easy installation and ergonomic design make it ideal for arborists.
PETZEL CHICANE
The CHICANE auxiliary braking device allows ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS mechanical Prusiks to be used on a single rope (SRT). Compatibility between the CHICANE and mechanical Prusiks ensures smooth rope glide through the brake during ascent and provides continuous additional friction during descent. The ergonomic handle provides an excellent grip and facilitates movement when moving through the canopy. Thanks to its opening side plate, installation on the rope is quick and easy.
Approved with both older (pre-2019) and newer versions of ZigZag. Ideally used with an OK Triact-Lock, OK Ball-Lock, or Am'D carabiner (not included).
The CHICANE allows the user to work in accordance with the ANSI Z133 standard.
Description:
- Allows the use of ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS mechanical Prusiks on single ropes

- The H-shaped cross-section of the connector, together with the positioning ring on the mechanical Prusik, makes the CHICANE and the mechanical Prusik a compatible unit that ensures smooth rope glide through the brake during ascent and descent
- Ergonomic handle that facilitates movement when moving through the tree
