Please note: The product does NOT include the Rope Wrench – only the tether and pulley!
The Squirrel Tether is the ONLY metal tether for the ISC Rope Wrench, specially developed and manufactured by ISC in Wales, United Kingdom. It is designed for low-friction ascents and optimal engagement of the Rope Wrench, which is required during descent and lateral movements in the tree crown[4][5].
The new Squirrel Tether is made from aluminium, ensuring minimal twisting and flex in the Rope Wrench system. This means the Rope Wrench is kept in an optimal low-friction position during ascent (for maximum climbing efficiency) and engages effectively during lateral movements and descent[4].
The Squirrel is fitted with a stop ball that keeps the Rope Wrench correctly positioned for safe rope engagement. The stop ball also prevents the Rope Wrench from pinching the user's hand, allowing safe handling of the upper or lower part of the tether when adjusting the system[4].
The Squirrel can be used with an SRS chest harness for hands-free handling during ascent. It offers four attachment points for an SRS chest harness, allowing the user to adjust the position to suit the harness type and personal preference[4].
The pulley's secondary opening provides an attachment point for a secondary system, enabling use in rescue operations[4].
Compatible with Rope Wrench 11-13 mm (RP280) and the new 13 mm-optimised Rope Wrench (RP283)[4].
