The Gränsfors American Felling Axe is a professional axe for traditional forestry work, ideal for felling large trees. Its rugged construction with a hickory handle and recycled steel delivers power and durability.

The American Felling Axe is a professional axe for anyone who wants to work in the forest in a traditional way. Ideal for felling very large trees thanks to the **wide edge** of 36 cm² that provides maximum cut-through in thick trunks. The axe is hand-forged with rounded shapes, which makes it perfect for cutting fresh, resinous timber such as spruce and pine without getting stuck.

The **heavy poll head** of 900 grams combined with the **long, curved handle** of 80 cm delivers exceptional power in every strike. The blade is forged from high-quality **recycled steel** from Swedish scrap, hardened to HRC 57-58 for optimal durability and sharpness. The edge is thinly ground near the blade for efficiency and thicker towards the back to resist chipping.

The handle is made of **American hickory** (hardened hickory), the strongest and most flexible wood for axes. It is impregnated with warm linseed oil and treated with beeswax to withstand weather and wear and to provide a natural grip. The **edge guard** is of vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö Garveri – biodegradable and free from heavy metals. The axe is delivered **ready-sharpened and sharp** from Gränsfors Bruk, with the Gränsfors stamp guaranteeing craftsmanship quality.
