Unlike traditional friction rings from the marine industry, the HEXARING is designed from the ground up for pruning and dismantling, offering better compatibility and gentler handling of arborist ropes.[1]
But what is a friction ring?
A friction ring is used by arborists to control the lowering of heavy loads such as branches or trunk sections during tree felling. It regulates speed through increased friction on the rope, reduces dynamic loads, and prevents damage to ropes, equipment, and accidents. It acts as a passive brake for safer work at height.[1][3]
