Description
Description
Notch Rigging Thimbles are designed for arborists by arborists and engineered for maximum durability in rigging situations.
Perfect for rigging and redirecting in tree felling and arborist work. Splice them into a sling for secure use as a rigging point or for leading ropes. Made in the USA with enhanced features compared to traditional marine thimbles, including wider rope grooves and softer bend radii for optimal performance with arborist ropes.[3][5]
Features
- Designed by arborists for arborists and engineered by engineers[3]
- Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) tested in the worst-case configuration scenario – clearly marked on each thimble[3][5]
- Wider rope grooves to accommodate more sizes and types of rope in various sling configurations[1][3]
- Larger, softer bend radius for running ropes and reduced friction[1][3]
- Non-anodized aluminum for longer lifespan and better wear resistance[3][5]
- Inner diameter optimized relative to other Notch thimbles for easier retrieval and splicing[3]
- Virtually unbreakable in standard configurations on a 25,000 lb (approx. 111 kN) horizontal testing machine[3]
- Lifetime Wear Warranty – If the thimble shows a "groove" from normal use, return for free replacement (does not cover dents, scratches, or splicing cost)[1][3][5]
Technical Specifications
- Material: Aluminum (non-anodized)[3][5]
- Origin: USA[3]
Sizes
| Size | Inner Diameter (Sling Diameter) | Rope Capacity (Max Running Rope) | MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Size 1 (Small) | 20 mm | Up to 14 mm | 30 kN |
| Size 2 (Large) | 28 mm | Up to 20 mm | 60 kN |
| Size 3 (XL) | 38 mm | Up to 28 mm | 98 kN |
Note: Choose the correct size based on your rope diameter and rigging requirements. Always check compatibility with your equipment.
