The Petzl RIG is a compact, self-braking descender for rope access, developed for experienced users.

Product description

The Petzl RIG is a compact self-braking descender specially designed for experienced rope access workers. The ergonomic handle provides comfortable control during lowering. The AUTO-LOCK system makes it easy to position yourself at the work station without having to operate the handle or secure the device separately. When locked, the rope can be taken in without operating the handle. The safety gate on the moving side plate allows easy rope installation while the device remains attached to the harness, which makes it easier to pass intermediate anchor points.

- The handle automatically folds to the storage position when the rope is removed, reducing the risk of snagging on the harness
Versatile:
- Rope can be taken in in the locked position for short ascents without operating the handle
- Cam operation for easy slack taking-in or belaying a lead climber with climbing technique
- Stainless steel edge-protection plate reinforces the rope friction zone for increased durability
Compatible with rope ø 10–11.5 mm
Lowering of heavy loads up to 150 kg for one person, up to 200 kg in rescue[1]
