Description

CRIC is a versatile rope clamp with integrated pulley, perfect for climbing and rescue situations. This compact and user-friendly device minimises the need for extra equipment.

Multifunctional rope clamp with integrated pulley for mountaineering, rope climbing and rescue. It is robust, practical and intuitive, and offers four different operating modes: ascender, pulley, rope clamp/pulley or pulley for ascending.

Key features:

  • its versatility, compact size and ease of use make it possible to minimise the time, material and space needed during rope manoeuvres;
  • it enables ascending the rope in accordance with the EN 567 / EN 12841-B standards (ascending mode)
  • it can be used as a simple pulley to lift or transfer a load in accordance with the EN 12278 standard (pulley mode);
  • the integrated ball-bearing sheave can be used as a simple redirect to make it easier to climb up a rope or to lift a person without the aid of additional connectors (rope clamp/pulley mode);
  • it enables direct lifting of a load, creation of hauling systems and rescue or self-rescue of a person, as in the case of a victim who has fallen into a crevasse (progress-capture hauling pulley mode);
  • when the line is used in pulley mode it can run freely in both directions; when the line is used in hauling pulley mode, however, it can only run in one direction and is locked in the opposite direction;
  • when used in hauling pulley mode it is possible to lower the lifted load by acting on the dedicated line connected to the cam in the device;
  • the easy opening, via an intuitive release button, makes installing the device on the rope quick - whichever mode is to be used - even with gloves on or when working in difficult conditions;
  • equipped with a steel cam with teeth that minimise wear on the rope but are effective at blocking the rope. In addition, the cam is designed with two grooves to reduce the build-up of dirt, so that the grip on the rope is maintained very effectively in all conditions (muddy, frozen rope, etc.).
  • Warning! This equipment is not a fall arrester (EN 353-2 / EN 12841-A) nor can it be used for self-belay while climbing.
