Rigging Ropes for Professional Tree Felling and Lowering

Rigging ropes are designed for one of the most demanding tasks in arboriculture – controlling heavy branches and trunks during lowering. Unlike climbing ropes, rigging ropes must withstand dynamic impacts and high tensile forces without permanent deformation or breakage. At Arboristbutiken, you'll find rigging ropes from Courant, English Braids, Teufelberger, Stein, FTC Tree, Hexarope, Cousin, and Sterling.

Popular models such as Courant AKA Rigging Rope, Sirius Bull, and CORTEX Rigging Rope are designed for splicing and use with rigging blocks, port-a-wraps, and braking systems. Hollow braid ropes like Sterling Hollow Braid offer easy splicing and a good balance between stiffness and handling characteristics. Choose the diameter based on load weight and system – thinner ropes (11–13 mm) for light rigging, thicker (14–16 mm) for heavy work in large trees.

Rigging ropes are used daily by certified arborists and tree fellers who work with controlled felling and lowering. Proper rigging protects the tree, the surroundings, and the safety of the work team. We stock ropes by the meter and in pre-cut lengths – spliced and with thimbles – and will help you choose the right specifications for your work.
