FTC Freexion

The FTC Freexion system is an adjustable friction device for tree climbing. It enables smooth movement in all directions and adaptation to rope diameter and climber weight.

FREEXION SYSTEM WITH SINGLE ATTACHMENT PULLEY

This set includes: the adjustable FREEXION unit with FREEXION TETHER and FREEXION HITCH, together with a single attachment pulley (CAMP Sphinx).

FREEXION SYSTEM WITH TRIPLE ATTACHMENT PULLEY

This set includes: the adjustable FREEXION unit with FREEXION TETHER and FREEXION HITCH, together with a triple attachment pulley (DMM Triple Attachment).

Our energy-dispersion system FREEXION makes it possible to advance with a friction hitch on a single rope, and move in all directions (up/down/across).

It is CE-certified and can be used with all EN 1891 ropes (type A) with a diameter from 11.5 mm to 12.5 mm. Its 3-position adjustment system (hard/medium/soft) lets you modify the system's angle. You can also adjust and create more or less friction depending on rope diameter, climber weight or to adapt to the situation in the tree.

With a secured opening of the front piece, FREEXION can be installed in the middle of the rope for easy set-up. FREEXION is the first system of its kind that does not need to be taken off the rope or dismantled to change the friction. You can change the friction at any time, in just a few seconds, or reduce the load on the friction hitch: no tools needed, just press both ends of a double button at the same time. It is so practical!

In the tree you only need to change the position of the tether's pin to change FREEXION's friction and modify the braking.

For example: High up in large trees, with heavy rope weight, you pull the tether to set the selector to soft mode and reduce the friction. When the rope weight becomes lighter further down the tree, you can set it back to medium or hard and increase the braking. You can climb in the morning with a dry rope in hard mode and in rain switch to soft mode because of the small increase in diameter caused by weather changes.

It is so easy to set up that it soon feels natural to modify the braking as needed and without limitations.

Bonus: FREEXION TETHER is designed with an extra loop for attaching a carabiner and adding extra friction during rescue. FREEXION's shape is developed for an easy transition from SRT to DRT work. The unit can then be used to push the friction hitch, no dismantling needed.

The system is very compact thanks to the short, flexible tether connection. During ascent the system sits low and close to the body, giving an upright position and plenty of room to move. The climber avoids reaching high up with the hands.

The compactness of the FREEXION SYSTEM is an advantage during large lateral movements, combined with friction adjustment. It is easy to switch between SRT and DRT or reduce/increase friction to adapt to the work.
