ART Blackbird

The ART Blackbird is a versatile ascent and descent device for both single and double rope techniques. It is approved for rescue and easy to switch between techniques.

The BlackBird from ART is designed to facilitate climbing using both single rope technique (SRS/SRT) and double rope technique (MRS/DRT). Without additional adjustments or tools, it is possible to switch between the two techniques. The rope does not need to be removed from the device for this. The design allows for identical descent behavior in both SRT and MRS. The BlackBird can be fully opened with a push button and can be installed mid-rope without the device needing to be detached from the harness.

The integrated swivel ensures optimal positioning in all situations. The upper attachment point for the carabiner is positioned away from the user, allowing the rope to be easily fed into the device. The upper attachment point can also be used for V-rigs and hoisting systems of 3:1 or 4:1. A ball-bearing pulley allows for comfortable handling, even with a little slack in the rope. For individual adjustment, the cam can be rotated on the friction enhancer. A carabiner attachment point allows for connection to the chest harness to pull the device up during ascent. The BlackBird is approved for rescue with two people on single rope (SRT) and on double rope (DRT).

All wear parts are replaceable. The BlackBird comes with two cams for different rope diameters.
