The ZipAbsorber 1 protects the climber from dangerous maximum impact forces in the event of a fall - just like an airbag. This type of impact force can occur even with "short" falls and can cause serious injuries. In a standard test performed during certification (100 kg falls from 1 m), the ZipAbsorber reliably reduces impact forces to below 6 kN. Without the shock absorber, the impact forces would almost double!

What's so special? Compared to conventional shock absorbers, the ZipAbsorber permanently withstands challenging working conditions without premature opening. In the RopeGuide 2010, it functions not only as a shock absorber but also as a retrieval device. According to the ART philosophy, this unit is also available as a spare part.
