A work lanyard (rope-system) based on a friction hitch for work positioning which offers a range of solutions for movement and position adjustment. This CE certified fall protection system has a diameter of 12.8 mm and can be selected in seven different lengths.

An additional application is as an anchor device for rescue of up to two persons.

The bespoke rope and friction hitch cord have been adapted to perfectly interact for exceptional reliability, performance, and longevity; especially when paired with DMM hardware.

The Nomad features the same two diameter options, contrasting colours and lengths as the Nomad+, but without the Director Yoke attachment and the Fidus 6.5 mm eye-to-eye.

All components are replaceable for longer life.

• Bright colour featuring friction cords and colour coded hardware for easy identification in complex environments; increasing safety by helping to avoid confusion with the main line or a second work lanyard.
• A range of work lanyard lengths (3m, 4m, 5m, 7m, 10m, 15m and 20m) to suit the work environment and your climbing style.
• Lower diameter of 11.8 mm for weight saving and use in warm and dry environments.
• Market-proven 24-plait double braid polyester rope with a nylon core. Easy to grip and good abrasion resistance.
• Fidus friction cords feature a polyester core and sheath, delivering exceptional and consistent performance over an extended lifespan, even in harsh, high UV environments.
• The friction hitch has been designed to interact smoothly, consistently, and reliably in a wide range of conditions.
• DMM TAP 2 for swift adjustment of the friction hitch and minimal ‘sit-back’. Three holes allow for further configurations in complex work positioning tasks.
• Paired with DMM Ultra O for correct compatibility between pulley, friction hitch, and attachment to the harness.
• Director Yoke also available separately to upgrade the Nomad system.
• 6.5 mm Fidus eye-to-eye available separately to upgrade the Nomad system.
• Short and strong stitch patterns in sewn eye-to-eyes.

Certifications & Applications

All Nomad systems are certified to EN358:2018, EN795B:2012. Not to be used for fall arrest.

All Nomad systems are certified as an anchor device for two-person rescue loads (PD CEN/TS 16415:2013).

Certified in a broad range of configurations:

• Doubled, with two attachment points to the harness – Side D to Side D (excluding suspension)/Front D to Front D (including suspension).
• Doubled, with one attachment point to the harness (e.g. bridge/ventral attachment point) and the termination side attachment to the TAP 2.
• Restraint when connected to a harness/belt attachment point(s) approved for restraint.
• Single, using the friction hitch with a spliced eye. Greatly increasing working length and reducing clutter near the harness.
• Attach additional fall protection systems for more work positioning options using additional holes in the TAP 2.
• Two doubled configurations with a single work lanyard for two attachment points to the structure.
• End-to-end connection of work lanyards using full length.
• Rescue, with the work lanyard acting as an anchor device.

Certified with three friction hitches (Distel 5+1, Schwabisch 5+1, VT 5+2) tied with the same length Fidus 8.5 mm eye-to-eye.
