The Rock Exotica Akimbo 2.0 is a versatile climbing tool for arborists. Its adjustable design enables safe and efficient ascent and descent in both stationary and moving rope systems.

The Akimbo² is a unique climbing tool for arborists that allows the climber to ascend, descend, and position themselves on both stationary and moving rope systems. The Akimbo² features rope contact surfaces (upper and lower bollards) that can be adjusted to accommodate a wide range of rope diameters, entirely according to the climber's needs and preferences – all without tools or dismantling components. The bollards can also be adjusted to increase or decrease friction to adapt to changes in climber weight, environmental changes, or to compensate for natural wear on the Akimbo's contact surfaces.

The Akimbo² easily opens to remove or install a rope mid-line in seconds, and can be folded into a compact unit both on and off the rope. When climbing on a stationary rope with a chest harness (SRS mode), the Akimbo² offers two additional attachment points. The upper attachment has a wire gate that allows for quick connection and disconnection of a non-PPE carabiner or a rope sling, while the primary life support attachment point can also be used to attach a chest harness with a non-PPE carabiner.

The Akimbo² is the second version of the popular mid-line attachable tree care climbing tool. Like the original, the Akimbo² allows you to position, ascend, and descend in stationary or moving rope systems (SRS or MRS) without additional equipment or having to disconnect from your harness.

Adjustable friction settings optimize performance on ropes from 11.5 mm to 12.7 mm, all without tools and without a list of approved ropes. The new Akimbo² also features an additional attachment option for SRS tending, as well as modifications for improved performance on the rope and replaceable components that extend its lifespan.
