Edelrid: German climbing equipment for arborists since 1863

Edelrid was founded in 1863 in Isny, southern Germany, and invented the kernmantel rope in 1953, the construction on which virtually all modern climbing ropes are based. Today, they manufacture the entire chain of equipment an arborist needs in the tree: harnesses, ropes, carabiners, ascenders, and spurs. Climbing harnesses and chest harnesses

Edelrid TreeRex II is one of our best-selling arborist harnesses, featuring wide leg loops, an adjustable rope bridge, and attachment points for both SRT and DRT. The TreeRaptor is the affordable option for those who climb less frequently or want a lighter harness. If you complement it with a chest harness, you can choose between the TreeRex Bunge Chest for SRT climbing and the new Vector Chest Y with a sternal attachment loop according to EN 361.

Cruiser series: ascenders for rope climbing

Edelrid's Cruiser family covers the entire body: Chest Cruiser as a chest ascender, Knee Cruiser as a knee ascender, and Foot Cruiser for the foot. The parts are built to work together, so you can assemble a complete SRT system step by step instead of buying everything at once. For the Talon spurs, there is also the Tree Cruiser which mounts directly on the gaff.

Ropes, carabiners, and spurs

WoodPecker 11.7 mm is Edelrid's climbing rope for tree climbing, with a soft grip and good spliceability. Among the carabiners, the HMS Bulletproof Triple stands out: steel reinforcement where the rope rubs, aluminum in the rest, so it weighs little but lasts long. Talon spurs are among the lightest on the market, and we stock spare parts such as gaffs, calf pads, and straps so that the spurs last for many seasons.
